The First Post

My story from CS Noob to CS semi Pro

I’m a Computer Science student graduating in 2022. I knew nothing about Computer Science until 2019. After attending a open source boot camp during the summer of 2019. I formatted my 2015 Hp laptop and installed Debian in it(changed to Ubuntu though). Things started to change.

From searching Google for a software to run my C program, I’ve learnt to use “sudo apt install”. This was a big leap. Big like humans sending a rover to the moon. Python was pre-installed in Ubuntu(as many of you already know).

So, with the knowledge of basic C programming. I turned to python. A simple print statement will do the job vs a 5 Line C program caught my eye. I wanted to learn python. But my academics had a different plan for me.

During my first semester I had to learn chemistry, physics and Drawing. Yeah, it doesn’t make sense. But my university made it mandatory for us to learn the basics of these. And in the second semester we were taught c programming. In my second year of graduation we have Data Structures, Computer Organization and Architecture, Database management systems, C++, Java, Operating systems and so on.

I tried learning the concepts of cloud computing, Virtual machines, Networking, Android development, Cybersecurity, Linux administration, Python, OpenCV, Machine Learning, Tensorflow,Pytorch, Block chain, and other emerging Technologies that were in the news in 2019. I learnt the basics of these mostly on my own from open source resources for free. The most important thing to know is knowledge is free.

Never pay to learn, it’s free for everyone.

I want to share whatever I’ve learnt and also practice writing. So I chose Medium as my platform to share my knowledge. Let’s see how it goes.

Well, that’s my first post. Please ignore all the mistakes of grammar I made, will Learn as I write. Thank you for Reading.

I'm a CS Engineer yet to graduate! Can print Hello world using Tensorflow and in a few programming languages. ✅ I'm not a Robot 🤖, even if I fail the test.
